Ziv Cojocaru

Composer, Conductor, Arranger and Pianist, Dr. Cojocaru serves as Head of the Composition, Conducting and Music Theory Department at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. He
also serves as Conductor in residence for the Israel Sinfonietta and as a board member at the Israeli Composers‘ League (ICL).
Dr. Cojocaru is the recipient of the 2015 Prime minister Award for composers, the 2002 ACUM grant for excellence in the fields of Composition & Arrangement, the 2000 TAMUZ award (Israel
Music Industry Prize), and more. Dr. Cojocaru received both his Master degrees in Composition and Conducting with honors at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance and Completed his Doctoral degree in composition (Ph.D.) at the Bar-Ilan University.
His compositions and arrangements have been preformed at festivals and venues including the “Euro Classic Festival” in Konzerthaus-Berlin, Arnold Schönberg Center-Wien, “Tonraum 21 – Festival für neue musik” – Graz, “MATA Festival” – New York, ISCM Festival, „Days of Macedonian Music“ – Skopje, “INTRADA” festival – Romania, ACL Festivals, Israel Music Festival, “Desert Sounds” Festival, ”Galilee Voice of Music” Festival, and more.

The preforming ensembles and orchestras include the Ensemble l’Intinéraire (France), Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble, Atem Ensemble (Romania), Zeitfluss Ensemble (Austria), Meitar Ensemble, Israel Contemporary Players, Tempera Ensemble, Tel Aviv Soloists Ensemble, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, Israel Symphony Orchestra, Israel Chamber Orchestra, Israel Sinfonietta, Israel Camerata, Israel Contemporary String Quartet, TelAviv Jazz Big Band and more. His works are published by the Israel Music Center (IMC) and the Israel Music Institute (IMI) and are often recorded and played on the Israeli Radio.
As a conductor, Cojocaru serves as Conductor in Residence for the Israel Sinfonietta Orchestra. He also performed with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, Wiener Concert-Verein (Austria), Israel Chamber Orchestra, Israel Camerata-Jerusalem, Filarmonica de Stat Botosani (Romania), Haifa Symphony Orchestra, Ashdod Symphony Orchestra , NK Orchestra, Israel Symphonette- Raanana, Meitar ensemble, Jerusalem Academy Orchestra, and more.
